Sin has a way of bringing us to isolation and defeat and sometimes in that time of extreme grief, we call out to God, but do not feel His presence. Where are You? Why don’t you care? Why have You abandoned me? The more we ask these questions with no response, the more we are reminded that these questions are actually God’s questions to us. Where are YOU? Why don’t YOU care? Why have YOU abandoned me? Often, solitude creates a contemplative mindset that brings us to the clarity we already knew. I left God. His silence echoes in our conviction, allowing our grief and misery to do its work - create a longing for restoration.
